Norwegian Houses

Timber, Turf and Fjord

Across the valleys and fjords of Norway, wooden houses stand much as they have for centuries. Log walls darkened by weather, turf roofs where grass and flowers grow, roundpole fences and storehouses raised on stone: a way of building shaped by forest, mountain and long winters. This series follows old farmsteads, boathouses and small buildings by the water, where architecture and landscape meet.
